THE ROLE

The Math Interventionist at Heartwood Community School provides specialized instruction to students who require additional support in mathematics. They assess students’ mathematical skills, develop intervention plans, collaborate with teachers, and use evidence-based strategies to enhance student learning. The goal is to close achievement gaps and ensure students meet grade-level expectations. The ideal candidate is compassionate, patient, and committed to Heartwood’s whole-child approach, creating a safe, supportive environment that encourages each student’s growth and success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver small-group or one-on-one math intervention sessions.
  • Identify students needing support through data analysis, teacher referrals, and assessments.
  • Develop and implement personalized learning plans based on students' needs.
  • Utilize research-based instructional strategies and interventions to support math learning.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly.
  • Conduct and interpret diagnostic assessments to determine students’ skill levels.
  • Track student progress using formative and summative assessments.
  • Maintain detailed records of student performance and provide progress reports.
  • Use data to inform instruction and adjust teaching strategies.
  • Work closely with classroom teachers to align intervention strategies with the curriculum.
  • Provide professional development and support for teachers on effective math instruction.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians about student progress and strategies for home support.

EDUCATION

  • Minimum 3 years teaching experience; math intervention preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent teaching experience.
  • Teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Proficient in using data to drive instruction.


COMPENSATION

The salary for this role is $80,000, with eligibility for a relocation package. To uphold our commitment to equitable and fair compensation, we offer a competitive salary and have a no-negotiation policy.
